Finch Computing Included in Gartner’s “Cool Vendors in In-Memory Computing” Report

FinchDB, the Company’s All In-Memory Enabling Platform Technology with Embedded Analytics, Highlighted for Delivering “Decision Intelligence” Required by “the Most Demanding Use Cases”

Reston, VA – Finch Computing, a division of Qbase LLC, today announced its inclusion in global research firm Gartner’s 2016 “Cool Vendors in In-Memory Computing” report. The annual report features technical analyst research and commentary, and provides an overview of trends and drivers in the in-memory market. The report also offers recommendations for technology leaders and includes profiles of a select group of vendors delivering innovative in-memory solutions. Its profile of Finch Computing focused on the company’s all in-memory platform technology, FinchDB.

Other vendors named in the report are MemSQL, Zoomdata, Striim and Bottlenose.

“We are thrilled to be recognized as a company doing new and differentiated things in the in-memory field,” Finch Computing’s Chief Technology Officer Scott Lightner said. “Being named a Cool Vendor last year was exciting for us as a very new company. Being again profiled in this research for how we are continuing to innovate and to change customer expectations of database technology is even better.”

FinchDB helps customers find meaningful, actionable, real-time insights in huge volumes of enterprise data. Structured or unstructured. Words or numbers. Streaming or static. Internal or external.  Notable passages on FinchDB from Gartner’s report include:

  • “Application architecture leaders looking for a platform to support real-time contextual big data analytics should look at products such as FinchDB…”
  • “…combines in a single, integrated technology platform an in-memory, JSON-based, NoSQL DBMS, [and] powerful contextual search and analytical capabilities…”
  • “…provides an innovative approach to supporting a wide range of applications including, but not limited to, context mining and brokering, intelligent decision automation, fraud detection, cyber security, sentiment analysis, ad placement and alerting, that require real-time, in-context analytics on large (multi-terabyte) datasets.”
  • “…delivering decision intelligence with dynamic scaling and low-latency required by the most demanding use cases.”

From an architecture perspective, FinchDB is an all in-memory, distributed, redundant, fault-tolerant system. Everything in FinchDB is persisted to disk and all computations are performed on the in-memory image of the data. It can consume data that is structured or unstructured, words or numbers, streaming or static, internal or external.

“We are glad to have this validation of our technology,” Lightner continued. “And we’re looking forward to continuing to build and develop features that empower our partners and customers to expect much, much more from their data analytics solutions.”
